The Must Known Facts on Robotic Process Automation Revealed

By Web Desk Jan 30 2020 1:03PM

We are in a technical era, where the machines mimic human and perform their works accurately and quickly. Years back, at the time of computer evolution, the concept was computer can perform all the works that any human does. It is becoming more evident recently with the advancement of certain technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT(Internet of Things), virtual reality, RPA(Robotic Process Automation) and more.

This blog includes some of the basic facts about robotic process automation, one of the latest and trending technology having the ability to mimic human workers.  RPA uses artificial intelligence or machine learning techniques to partially or fully automate most of the high-volume repetitive, rule-based and manual works that any human worker can perform. With the influence of Robotic process automation, the manual error can be reduced and the human workers can devote their valuable time on complicated works.

RPA is a powerful concept that most of the popular companies like IBM, TCS, Vodafone, Xerox, Infosys, Intel, Linkedin, Walmart, etc… are using. The software robots called bots in RPA technology can be trained for predicting future outputs and it can capture and interpret applications. Rule-based repetitive tasks like data entry, transaction processing, data manipulation, logging out from software after completing tasks, communicating with other systems, responding to customer queries and many other works can be automated with RPA integration.

As mentioned above, bots are the software robots that handle all the works to automate the operations. These bots are beneficial because of the ease of implementation, low cost, accuracy, multi-tasking capability and faster outputs. Also, these RPA bots don’t require any customized software or system integrations. The RPA technology divides these software robots into 4 categories:

Probots: The RPA probots are considered to be the simple category that process data and information for performing repetitive tasks.

Knowbots: Knowbots are programmed bots that search internet sites for collecting and gathering user-centric information.

Chatbots: Chatbots or chatterbots are virtual agents that can stimulate the text or voice conversation of a human being. Chatbots commonly used for providing real-time customer support.

Shopbots: Shopbots are programmed bots that can manage online shopping on behalf of a human being. These bots can identify the best price for any user-specified product after comparing the prices from different e-commerce sites.

Varieties of Robotic process automation tools are available for automating different business operations for maximizing productivity. HelpSystems, Automai, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism and Pega are some of the popular RPA tools.

RPA Applications

Most of the industries today is moving on to Robotic Process Automation(RPA) technology that can boost the business performance at the same time reduces the workload on employees by automating repetitive tasks.

Let’s list some applications of Robotic Process Automation(RPA):

Sales Billing: Invoice preparations, data replication

Ecommerce: Shipping status updates for customer

Banking: customer appointment confirmations, card activation & cancellation, report generation, fraud claims

Insurance: Processing and clearance of claims, passing information from documents to appropriate departments.

Government: Renewal of different ID cards

Healthcare: Appointment confirmations, patient registration, billing
